Local businesses are invited now through Jan. 18 to apply for the South Texas Better Business Bureau?s Mary G. Moad Business Ethics Award, given to an accredited Businesses of the BBB of South Texas region. The award is for those businesses who believe they operate to the highest of ethical standards.
The award is named after Mary G. Moad, whose vision and work helped charter and open the Better Business Bureau office in Weslaco in 1986. As the founding president of the bureau, she was an advocate for the promotion of ethical business practices in South Texas.
Businesses may apply by completing 10 questions and by providing examples of what sets them apart from others. The application is available online at http://bit.ly/mary-g-moad-award and can be downloaded as a Word document. Applications can be submitted by fax at 956-968-7638 or email awards@BBBSouthTexas.org.
The winner will be announced during a press conference at 11 a.m. April 25 at the BBB office, 502 East Expressway 83, Suite C, Weslaco.
